A quiet Sunday afternoon. A number of members were missing in action – excuses included a trip to the Severn Valley Railway (and Swiss Railways Society AGM), a family BBQ (he wouldn’t disclose the address so we could all go round), a Chelsea home game (no comment) and buses at Brooklands. But five members appeared and we set things up to run a few trains.
The usual international mix appeared, sometimes in the same train. Richard ran some 1910 Swiss coaches with a slightly more modern electric locomotive. Stickers on the coach roofs are Stuttgart colour coding.
Brian went Dutch, and caused some concern when one track of the layout shorted out – it’s what happens when your die-cast container flats derail and lie on the track….
Derek ran an interesting mix – a purple Deltic hauling a milk train including some carmine and cream BR stock. Normally only seen on leaving the pub!
Frank ran a relatively normal UK express (as well as a train of bright orange US tank wagons.)
We packed up a little early, as everyone had finished running things, but it was a pleasant session. And, of course, below are moving pictures by Brian…..
