Michael was on duty at East Grinstead last weekend, for the diesel gala. As he commented, the steam days brings out all the old buffers, the diesel gala all the rather peculiar enthusiasts!

The class 50 lived up to its reputation and broke down before it could leave Sheffield Park, and had to cancel its first train. It can only work driven in one direction, so I think now it is either going in reverse or for display only.
