Odd modelling ideas #2314
On my way up to the doctors for a flu jab this morning, checked the London-Brighton main line. No trains, I’m afraid, but I saw that fall autumn has arrived in the creeper along the retaining wall. A good model … Continue reading

Believe it or not spot….
If your drivers keep going on strike, what do you do? “SNCF targets autonomous trains in five years” An autonomous locomotive in northern France is controlled by a “téléconducteur” at the control centre in Lyon. Strike-hit French Railways is rapidly … Continue reading

Bembridge, Isle of Wight
I keep returning to Bembridge, on the Isle of Wight, as a near perfect small branch line terminus. A scale model fits within 4′ in ‘N’ gauge. And with the beach directly to the left, a sea backscene would be … Continue reading

World’s Worst Railroad Track Compilation
You think the track is bad on our N-mod layout? Just look at this video. Now I know that the telephoto lens makes things worse, but some of these lines are pretty awful!

And, just for a change, another Swiss holiday #14
Day 13 Another scorcher. Rode on more postbusas than trains. Took trains to Ilanz changing at Reichenau Ramins. From Ilanz we made our way by postbus as to Davos changing at Laax, Chur and Tiefencastel. We took the nostalgia train … Continue reading
