A long afternoon this Wednesday, as we decided to have an afternoon working on the new fiddle yard before the evenings meeting. And we made a lot of progress – a lot of steps forward, and just the few backwards.
By the end of the afternoon, we’d connected up the new power box to one end of the layout, tested the points, and run a train. There are a few electrical hiccups (expected, as I wired it all up), but we are getting close to the thing being operational.
Five of us worked the afternoon, then paused for fish and chips collected by the Chairman from our local shop. Another four joined us for the evening, making a busy time. However, we’d worn ourselves out by the end of the evening, and it was cold outside, so we packed up before 9:30pm,
The Blue Spot fish train was first out round the layout.
Derek’s KCRC Kowloon-Canton train kept uncoupling, but brought back memories of tracking the real thing along the Tai Po Highway.
Ian and Simon were testing locos. Ian now has a long repair list!
Meeting again on Sunday, and I might just carry on wiring in the corner!
Meanwhile, at home, I’ve finished a box for my Bus Garage Junction module. As usual I built it around the module, ensuring that it will fit in future….
